YES to the RIGHT Dress!

Are you getting ready to shop for your wedding dress and you don't know where to start? This week we are excited for our guest post from Designer Dress Online Retailer, Misses Dressy. Thank you for sharing your insight on tips to keep in mind when shopping for one's wedding dress. I know many brides will find this advice helpful!
Well, you've waited your whole life for this moment, and finally after years of dreaming about this once in a lifetime occasion it's actually happening: you're getting married. Like thousands of other women out there, you've probably been planning for this day since you were six years old. Let's be honest. 'Wedding Day' was one of your favorite games as a child where you envisioned a fairytale ambiance with chandeliers, beautiful lilac floral arrangements and yourself in a flowing, white princess gown that your guests fawned over.
So now the time has come for you pluck this perfect gown out of your dreams and turn it into a reality. Easier said than done. Where do you begin? There are so many cuts, styles and even colors for you to choose from you're probably overwhelmed and pulling your hair out right now with all the options in front of you. Well, fear not. The following tips are guaranteed to help you find the wedding dress of your dreams and make you the belle of the ball on your special day.
1. Pay attention to your body shape and choose something that will flatter your figure. If you're pear shaped, or have a smaller chest and bigger bottom, opt for a ball gown or empire waist cut, which will give the illusion of a bigger bust while slimming your hips and thighs. Have an hourglass figure? Show off your curves with a sheath or mermaid cut that hugs your body.
2. Don't buy the first dress you try on. Like a lot of other things in life, looking for the right wedding gown takes time, so don't act impulsively. Let some time elapse and then go back to the shop and try it on again to see if you're still as crazy about the dress as you were initially.
3. Choose a dress that fits your personality. If you're the type that likes to be able to move freely and you plan to dance the night away, don't pick something tight, strapless or hip-hugging. Don't count on being able to do the limbo in a strapless mermaid ensemble. You don't want to be fixing or tugging at your dress every five minutes, so make sure you're comfortable in the gown you choose.
4. Pick something that will be suitable for the style and location of the wedding. Considering a gown with a 12-foot-long train for a beach wedding? Not a good idea. Planning to make a grand entrance on horseback in a ball gown? An even worse idea. Practicality is key.
5. Keep in mind how you're going to want to wear your hair. If you want to wear your hair down, don't choose something with a detailed neckline or straps that will be hidden under your long tresses.
6. Get a second opinion from friends and family members. Though you may think you've found 'The Dress', your mom or your best friend may bring up some points you hadn't considered. Ultimately it's your decision, but give their advice some consideration.
7. Give yourself plenty of time by starting your search six to nine months in advance. Remember to allot extra time for possible alterations.
8. Try on a variety of cuts and styles, even the ones you don't think look particularly promising. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised!
