Mint + Red

Thursday, July 12, 2012

I remember when I found out that the 2012 color of the year was "Tangerine Tango." I was actually surprised because that color had already been a staple in my wardrobe for the past couple of years. In my eyes, if I could single out one color that really took off this year, it would be mint green. I always thought it looked better on fair complexions but it looks super excellent on tanned skin! Mint green is everywhere; skinny jeans, nail polish and of course it's made it's way to bridesmaid dresses.

Red and tiffany blue was a popular wedding color combo a couple years back and mint green is usually seen with other pastels or neutrals but right now I am completely loving the unexpected pairing of mint green and red. At first thought, i'd think that any sort of green and red together would automatically remind me of Christmastime or a watermelon, but the right color use of bold, poppy red with soft mint green gives off such a fresh, lovely retro pop!

What do you think?
