Vintage Styled Shoots
Monday, June 4, 2012
The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of events. I mentioned before, we were in the middle of moving, so along with packing, unpacking and everything else in between, I had a couple styled shoots lined up that required some special attention. I wasn't quite able to post my usual blog last week but i'm back and ready to hit the ground running!
I wanted to share a couple 'behind the scenes' shots that I took with my phone. We had too much fun shooting this "Modly in Love" elopement styled shoot at The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. I love working with Mark & Crisanta of Infiniti Foto. With them, it's a family affair (literally) since our kids get to come along and it becomes a daycation of sorts!
Our oversized dessert topper by Purple Jade Designs ended up being the perfect statement prop
Gorgeous desert sunset but our bride's hair was completely windblown, her veil wouldn't stay on!
Each wedding I work on is significant to me but it isn't everyday that you get to reconnect with a childhood friend. Nikki and I have known each other since seventh grade and working with her has a special place in my heart. We lost touch after high school and last year started working on styled shoots together. I'll be coordinating her and Gary's wedding this September and i'm extra pumped because Nikki is obsessed with all things vintage and has enjoyed thrifting and digging for the past 15 years, so you can just imagine the style that is going to radiate on their wedding day! Her collection of odds and ends over the years has led her to launch Thrifted Sister Vintage. Together, we collaborated on her engagement session, inspired by her very love of vintage, we chose to highlight a few of her favorite eras.
Seasons Come and Go but Our Love Never Goes Out of Style
Summer 50's | Spring 70's | Fall 60's | Winter 20's
I think our fall scene ended up looking more appropriate for winter and our 20's scene ended up being more like fall. What do you think?
Can't wait to show you the actual photos and save the date video by the incredibly talented team from CakeFlix! I'll be posting the final and more detailed shots shortly, under "Spotlight."
Stay tuned :)
