Glamelia
Tuesday, February 28, 2012
I remember the first time I saw a glamelia, i thought "WOW, a flower on steroids!" Glamelias, also known as composite bouquets and malmaison roses were popular back in the 40's. During the war, camelias were expensive so gladiola petals were transformed into the same elegance of a camelia flower. Glamelias are an elegant option for the vintage glamour inspired bride. It's basically a handful of individual petals wired together carefully to look like one huge flower. It's a labor intensive process and can be quite costly, but the outcome is nothing short of stunning!
