Love is...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Another person's interpretation of this four letter word constantly intrigues me. Despite one's experience with love, whether good or bad, I know one thing, it is ever evolving. Being a wedding planner, I get to witness so much love concentrated into a single day. My favorite moments are the tingly feeling that transpires when the bride walks down the aisle and hearing the advice of seasoned married couples during a toast to the newlyweds. How do you put these moments into words? Oftentimes it's an overwhelming feeling that leaves you speechless, yet gives you wings to soar at the same time.

Every now and then I come across lil' tidbits that remind me of just how powerful love is. Here are a few of my faves:

So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One minute you're enjoying life and the next you're wondering how you could ever live without them. -Hitch

You know you're in love when you don't want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams. -Dr. Seuss

Love is the greatest refreshment of life. -Pablo Picasso

Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly who you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out your @$%. That's the kind of person worth sticking with. -Mr. MacGuff (Juno)

What are some of your favorite advice or quotes on love? Please do share, we'd love to hear from you!

I'm a huge fan of hair wear if you couldn't tell by now. Nothin' like adding a lil' drama (the good kind) and flair to make a simple outfit remarkable. These mini bridal hats are so haute, I wish I could have an entire bridal party to play dress up with! It doesn't have to just stop with the bride and her hairpiece, i'm loving the burst of color for the rest of her gals, especially the peachy-blush hue and blue tone... sooo fun!

With the exception of Gwen, who makes anything look good, these all can be found on etsy of course!

I always enjoy walking by Anthropologie, admiring their crafty storefront displays and sifting through pretty dresses I add to my growing wish list. It was only a matter of time that they'd segue into the wedding world, this time giving the wedding industry a much needed breath of fresh air. BHLDN was launched this past Valentine's Day and stands for beholden, which means 'to keep.' Don't you just love that?

The 2011 Fall collection is out and i'm sitting here swooning over all this gorgeous charm. I had fun using the 'create a moodboard' option on their website and actually spent more time than I anticipated because there were so many beautiful choices, I couldn't create just one!

If you haven't already, swing by and have a look around, they have a sweet selection of new frocks to covet, along with lovely design trinkets that are bound to make you smile in awe...mazement :)
