Serendipity Inspired Photo Shoot

Friday, December 9, 2011

Hi lovelies :) It's been an emotional week for me. My mom passed away last Thursday so needless to say, I haven't been around my computer as much. This week's post is a bit later than usual but brings a smile to my face and I hope it does to yours. I'm sure you've seen all the gorgeous movie inspired engagement shoots floating around online. This one is near and dear to my heart because I got to coordinate this with some of my amazing friends.

I'd like to share some holiday cheer with you! Presenting... a Serendipity inspired engagement shoot!

Why Serendipity?
It's a romance film that has left me with an imprint beyond the holidays. Ten years since it's release and it still gets me every time I watch it! I think deep in the heart of each person, one of their greatest desires is to not be forgotten. People yearn to know that there's someone out there who cares so passionately about them, they are willing to fight for their love even though time, distance and other variables keep them apart. From a fortunate accident, to a series of events in between, the journey of these two lovers has a gratifying on-screen ending which marks the beginning of their lives together. This makes me think about all the couples who are on their path to marriage and what they had to go through to end up with each other.

Meet Kellen & Karla Mills, who were married last August. A married couple for an engagement shoot you may wonder? Yes, it was intentional! Throughout the movie, there is a spirit of spontaneity, fate/faith, joy and perseverance that carries the main character's (Jonathan & Sara) relationship through. When an engagement is over, it doesn't mean you stop pursuing that person. It means you are committed to continually being spontaneous, faithful, joyous and persevere together. This movie is a favorite of Karla's and reminds them both to have as much if not more fun together as they did when they were first getting to know each other. Captured by Rick Navarro who also shot their original set of engagement photos (and wedding day), here is our rendition of a Los Angeles Serendipity, an extension of their ongoing engagement and seasonal depiction of the Mills' ever evolving, ultimate love story. To all the single, engaged and married couples, may this encourage you to continue your pursuit and never give up on love. Cheers!
