2012 Wedding Trends

Friday, September 16, 2011

This week I had the privledge to go to the annual Wedding Merchant's Business Academy in Las Vegas where I was surrounded by some of the industry's leading event professionals. One of the speakers was Carley Roney, co-founder of The Knot. She shared some insights on the wedding forecast for 2012. Here's a preview of what you can expect to see more of this coming year:

Black Tie
Ornate Venues
Vintage Newlywed Getaway Car
White Pallettes
Changing Structure of the Timeline
Surprises that WOW Your Guests
Food Trucks
Dog Ring Bearer

I never thought i'd say this, but I'm especially looking forward to black tie and white monochromatic weddings. As a person who LOVES color, we've all seen so much color in the past few years, it's definitely a nice change. Also, mixing up the timeline to include a cocktail after party would be refreshing, as would the surprise of shuttling all guests from the ceremony to the reception site on an open air party bus!
